How much does it cost?
For a domestic property, south facing, with a 30º inclined roof;
a typical 2.5kWp system would produce £1,008 of electricity plus estimated savings of £100 on the electricity bill per year. The simple return would be 9.21% (7.30% aer equivalent). This would typically cost £12,050 and needs 15 panels on 20m2 of roof.
Realistic domestic systems cost from £7,000 to £18,000. The bigger systems give better returns because of economies of scale. |
